2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR
AUDITION INFORMATION

Dance & Music Academy will have several Performance Companies for the 2012-2013 School Year. All company members will be required to take at least one Ballet class per week (or one tap class per week if in Tap Company) at the appropriate level. In addition, upper level companies will be required to take at least one Jazz and one Jumps & Turns class per week at the appropriate level. All Company members are expected to take a Ballet Class (or Tap Class if in Tap Company) over the summer. (If this is not possible, you must make special arrangements with the Company Director as soon as you are selected to be in a performance company.)

Allegro Ballet Company
All dancers recommended for Ballet 2 or higher can join this company. An audition is still required, as this is how dancers will be placed in dance numbers and principal dancers will be selected.

Auditions for the Performance Company
Auditions will be held at the Edgebrook location on June 4, 2012.

Petit Allegro: 4:00-4:45pm

Allegro Moderato: 4:45-5:30pm

Allegro Tappers: 5:30-6:30pm

Allegro Crescendo: 6:30-7:15pm

Grande Allegro: 7:15-8:00pm

Allegro Ballet Company: 8:00-8:45pm
Auditions will be held at the Glenview location on June 5, 2012.

Petit Allegro: 4:00-4:45pm

Allegro Moderato & Crescendo: 4:45-5:45pm

Allegro Tappers: 5:45-6:30pm

Grande Allegro: 6:30-7:15pm

Allegro Ballet Company: 7:15-8:00pm

Allegro Forte & Vivace: 8:00-9:00pm

Dancers will be notified if they are selected for the dance company by June 6, 2012. There are a limited number of spaces in each company level. Not everyone is guaranteed a place in the company; however, the audition experience will be a very positive one.

Time Commitment
Members of each performance company will be required to take a regular Ballet class during the 2012-2013 school year. Upper level Company members will also be required to take a Jazz class. Each Company Member will also be required to regularly attend their Company Class. (See the Company Handbook link below for more information on required classes.)

Performance and Competition Events The Performance Companies will perform at local area events, retirement homes and the recitals in June. The teams will also compete at a minimum of 1 nationally recognized local dance competition and participate in 1 local dance convention (master classes over a weekend).
